About me
I accidently fell in love with floristry after taking a job in a local florist during a gap year before university . Abandoning my university place I headed to college to do a HND in floristry at the University of Hertfordshire where I met my husband to be. I had so many opportunities through college, demonstrating at Chelsea flower show, working in New York as well as competing in floristry competitions in the UK and abroad. After a brief time travelling and working in florists in Australia I headed home to Aberaeron, and in 2000 opened Expressions in Aberystwyth, it became a very busy florist shop. I continued to study and gained my Intermediate certificate of the Society of Floristry and National Diploma of the Society of Floristry, receiving The 2008 Haybrittle trophy for the highest marks achieved in the ICSF practical exam. In 2011 I gave up my shop premises, expecting my son , I moved the business to a home studio where I specialized in weddings this helped me achieve a better work life balance. My family and I now live on a working farm and when I am not caring for my boys, doing my wedding floristry, or tending my cutting garden I am actively busy on the farm.
